Ear Cropped Gone Wrong

Due to the gory-ness of this picture, I’m going to make people click inside the entry to see it.

I’ve never seen the need for cropped ears regardless of breed until recently. I read something in the Nihon Ken forum where one of the reasons for cropped ears is that it prevents a particular type of breed from allowing their ears to freeze. If it is done properly and purely for the benefit of the dog, fine. But if it is done out of aesthetics and you have NO FREAKING IDEA how to do it, DON”T CROP YOUR DOG’S EARS.

Sadly, Nora did not receive proper care after getting her ears cropped.

Nora, the Akita

My name is Nora and I am an unaltered female, brown brindle and white Akita and Pit Bull Terrier.

The shelter thinks I am about 1 years and 0 months old.

I have been at the shelter since Jun 21, 2009.

Click here for more information about Nora.

EDIT: It seems that she was taken off the database, so I’m assuming she got adopted or transferred to an Akita-specific rescue. Woot!
